Dsc04356 Obviously too busy these last past weeks. This week is quite hectic too but in sunny Cannes with Microsoft Advertising. If you want some 'offical' updates (MA related that is) , follow the Cannes Twitter account and join the Facebook page .
Going to be a crazy day - and night- tomorrow: seems like Bring the Love Back won Bronze Lions!

Marketing 2.0 Conference

Picture_13 Delighted to post about this great conference I'll be attending in Paris in May 5 and 6!  Marketing 2.0 Conference program looks really exciting: My Space VC Jay Stevens, SixApart VC Olivier Creiche, VC Netvibes Stefan Lechere, CEO CultureBuzz Emmanuel Vivier, Psdt Azoomma Marketing Lab (one of my first and best presentations readings on influence measurement), etc, etc.

I'm looking forward speaking with Forrester principal analyst Mary Beth Kemp whom I met in Barcelona last October and with Fred Cavazza whom I should thank for posting and congratulating the Club Med innovative campaign. If' you're going let me know. If not, you'll be missing something ;)

Interact Congress Blog - second season

Picture_1 Wow! Gloups...Yesterday I've been invited by e-mail to join some of the "prestigious European bloggers" posting on the Interact Congress blog, the platform developed for the second IAB European Congress which will take place in Berlin beginning of June (more info).

It was an automatic mail sent from the admin Blogger platform without a word on my mission. No question if I'm going to accept it though; there's contribution you can't just say no. I guess I'll try to stick to the Congress objective being to "discuss trends and innovations in Online Advertising and Media across Europe"- and yes probably focusing very much on my own bread and butter, Social Media input. I'd also like to take the opportunity to learn more and hopefully interact with fellow bloggers I dont know yet and to interview leaders from the market. So when the content is scarce here -well, even when is not actually- go and check this place.

Euroblog 08

Starting today, looks very promising. So close from home  and so far from my agenda. If you're like me deep into clients productions and far from the show, be sure to follow it on Blackline blog. Philippe promised me life coverage.

Talking too much

Picture_12 here, there (actually there I could not make it anymore but maybe in May, we'll see..) and not enough time to write on the blog. I know... Frustrating :-)
Btw, working on a Social Media Net Café for the IAB on May, 22nd so if you have suggestions, feel like participating, etc. let me know. Agenda is almost closed but lets be flexible.

While Im on the subject, Attentio is co-hosting an Academy with Emakina on my favorite topic. Half-day event followed by lunch will be held in Place Flagey on the 21st (March yes - second round in April 17th in Gent). Practical presentations on SM, focus on business cases , impact on strategy and of course monitoring&measurement. If you want to attend, drop me an e-mail.

Going Solo- Lausanne Conference

Picture_26 Being a freelancer in a connected word! Hey, that's me!! Just registered to the Going solo event in May,18th,16th!! (thanks Stephanie!) booked my plane ticket. Quickest registration I ever made to an event. "Right up your alley" as Kris put it, pointed me to the conference tonight (be warned, Kris, I probably have more thanks to come for that- you're not going to handle them anymore :-)

I'm really excited. Not that I feel lonely, not even solo. I'm lucky to work with lovely people I see on a daily basis or so. Even working from home from time to time does never make me feel like being on my own (quite the contrary I dream about being on my own more often). And I never feel like it because of connection. 'Connecteuse' was the word I choose to describe how I would see my new role when my friend Alex offered me a coaching lesson when I decided to jump into the freelance world. I couldn't have chosen a better one. Say, I feel very excited to meet "people like me" :-)

And specially Stephanie (dont misread, 'like me' does not quite apply here), whom I'm reading since I stumbled upon her notes from the Blogging for Business Conference in London last April. I wished I had met her a year ago. Ok, I met my dear Simon, that was nice also :-) So now's the time to meet this jumping lady! I'm really looking forward to it!

On Thursday, I'll be attending one of the most exciting events of the year with one of my business partners, Simon Mc Dermott from Attentio. Thursday's night is blogger dinner time with - among others- Jeremiah Owyang , Peter Kim and others Spanish celebrities ;). Unfortunately our favorite one won't join. Amaia, we'll miss you! Can't wait to be there. Plus qu'une fois dormir :-)

Rolling Talks Social Media Workshop

That's it: what kept me real busy these last 2 weeks is over. I've been lucky enough to organize my first Social Media Workshop for the consultants of The House of Marketing, the Belgian highly reputed marketing expert consultants' company. Many thanks to Véronique Vergeynst who made this possible and who helped a lot with the organisation phase. During the 3 hour workshop, I presented two parts: one over Social Media landscape from a user point of view, the other was about the impacts for marketers. I also invited 6 great professionals to share their experience with social media.
Thank you again to all my passionate speakers, Julie from Skynet, Diane from Dell, Nathalie from Electrabel, Pierre from Virtual Words Translations, Simon from Attentio, and Jacques, stuck in Milan, but will be for next time ;) ( Have a look at the agenda here ).

If you're interested to have this workshop - or a similar one- home let me know.

Blog Business Summit

Blogbusinesssummit The Blog Business Summit  will take place in Chicago on the 17th - 19th of September. Looks like a great place to be. The most famous monitoring company Attentio will be sponsoring the event and will blog live about it.
I wish I could go... Any local publication interested to have a local reporter there ?

Disclaimer if needed
: Attentio is one of my privileged business partners. But more than that: Simon is quite responsible for my new freelance career. Explaining why I'm so entousiast about them? Wrong! They 're simply a lovely bunch with great brains and interesting tools. I mean great tools and interesting brains.
Simon, about this live blogging mention: that's ok if you bring me back the presentations :-)

Brands and blogs, London talks

In the 'I'll do better next time' spirit  - except that this time it really has to be better (I'm specially ashamed of my 'blog means business.haha' line), I decided as part of the therapy to share my first 'pro' -hhmmm-  video and forget about it.

Brandsblogs

I asked Alex for feedback:" You look like a top model with a brain". (ROTFL).
Then she spilled out a few 'to be improved'- essentially "look straight at the f..*camera".
This is called CNV (for Communication Non Violente).. Best friends. You know why you love them :-)

Now that my ego feels so much better, I'm willing to share a bit more on the Brands&blog event:

IAB European Congress starts this Monday

Letsinteract_logo I'm very happy to join the event as a 'reporter' for Digimedia. When i was 14 i wanted to be a reporter but my mum told me it was no job for a girl and certainly no job for a girl wishing to make money - financial autonomy was indeed part of the girls upbringing :-) I changed my mind for cosmonaut...

Lovely Heidy - from Heidi Lambert Communications - reached me to see if i wanted to meet some of the speakers and patiently explained to me that jumping on them in between interviews could still be an option if i rather have it my way but that she'd be happy to help.

There's someone i'd be particularly delighted to meet and lovely patient Heidy is trying to set it up : the man is Jaap Favier, Forrester VP and Research Director, who's going to speak about 'social computing'. If there's any question you'd like me to ask him, or if you feel like joining, drop me an e-mail or post here.

Social networks: far more good than damage

This is probably what has been most repeated during the Blogging for Business event yesterday in London, or at least the one I heard the most and it can answer the opening question of the conference 'how social media is changing your business?'.

Probably because attendees seemed to be more agencies and brands than experienced bloggers or social networkers- if we except the speakers themselves- and that they came to be informed and reassured about the social tools they should be using already or asap.

This is one of the reasons why this event was completely different from my experience at Le Web 3 in Paris last December. The fact that women were almost 50% of the audience (pity they use toilets only to make up though :-), that they were almost zero PC on tables and thus zero complaints about slow connection but some about too few desserts still :-), no presence of any politics except for the virtual presence of Hillary Clinton whose blog was mentionned, real interesting panels with mostly passionate speakers, all these and more made it a far more valuable experience to me too:

Ik zal er niet zijn

Bwards_3 Seems there's a big event on the 'other side of the country' tomorrow. Understood it's all kind of blogs and i guesss not brands' ones in particular so here's my excuse not to go :-)

The real thing is I would need to go with someone like Mr Naais for exemple, so i could hopefully get  a word ...this is a very good idea actually: every dutch speaking blogger should sponsor a french speaking one so some guys could still enjoy the show :-) no i won't link :-) Come on! let's connect! Who's going to support a French girl?

More on the blog event .

Here i am! Le Web 3!

First impression is great! it seems that Le Meur has more time to set it up than me (no camera,no nothing except my laptop). Or maybe this time -and only this time- he gots better support :-) Nice & warm place, cool music, good vibes, connection a bit slow but funny to see all these people - including me- writing frenetically, laptop on knees. The show is starting in 2 minutes!! Will try to post during the day but the rhythm presentations is pretty hectic!
